Latest issue
LEGO Icons is the theme for adult fans and it keeps innovating. 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook is a new style of set that is the brainchild of Design Master Antica Bracanov. She and her colleagues explain how they took it from a novel concept to a finished model, filling it with details from Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic stories.
How do you communicate mythology to a broad audience in a museum? You build icons of Greek stories with LEGO elements of course. The team at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester reveal how they collaborated with professional builder Warren Elsmore to deliver bricks amidst the venue’s artefacts.
Senior Design Master Wes Talbott builds with Blocks while discussing his storied career so far at the LEGO Group, which all started with work concepting the beloved Elves theme. He soon joined the company as a model designer – and in that role he has worked on Disney, The Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons, The LEGO Movie 2 and much more.
In a brand-new feature, the LEGO magazine will spotlight a specific fan creation each month. But it has to be something epic – and that word applies to Bart Deliën‘s enormous, historical Venice model. His creation goes far beyond the story though, giving life to the Italian city as it was in 1486. Blocks spotlights some of the great techniques within the build so you can try them for yourselves.
The LEGO Group has returned to Springfield with 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger and the refined dining establishment gets a rating in this issue’s Reviews section. There’s also a look at the new Jurassic World Rebirth sets to see if you should add them to your dinosaur collection.
The biggest franchise of them all will always be Star Wars and the LEGO design team shares their connection with the saga in exclusive interviews conducted at Star Wars Celebration Japan. Designer Jackson Hughes also provides a deep dive into his work on the massive Ultimate Collector Series 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship.
That’s just a taste of what’s in Blocks, the monthly magazine for LEGO fans, Issue 129. Within this 116-page magazine you’ll also find three sets of exclusive building instructions, a look back at 2005 in the brick, top 10 LEGO elves and much, much more.
