In the July issue of Railway Modeller, the Railway of the Month is Bournemouth Central – an impressive OO gauge model of this Southern Region seaside station with its distinctive overall roof. We also revisit Chris Lamacraft′s EM gauge model of the classic Great Western branch line terminus – Ashburton – which was retired from the exhibition circuit 25 years ago, but now has a new home on the South Devon Railway, the preserved section of the former Ashburton branch. Other layouts featured this month include Glebe Street (an O gauge model set in the Glasgow suburbs in the 1960s), Gwynog-ar-y-Bryn (a first layout in OO9, depicting North Wales narrow gauge railways), and Millbury, an extensive N gauge layout set in Yorkshire in BR steam days. Craig Tiley designs a layout of Haworth shed on the preserved Keighley & Worth Valley Railway; Paul Bason shows how to scratch-build a station master′s house; and Ian Carter describes how he built the model of Dawlish in 1848, featured in the November 2022 issue. New product reviews include the Bachmann G5 for The Model Centre and the Accurascale Class 37 diesel.
