DREW Kemp is back in British league racing with Championship side Scunthorpe – and is keen to banish the memory of a frustrating night in the second leg of last year’s Play-Off Grand Final with Poole. Having been without a team place for the opening months of this season, the Scorpions signing reveals: “I think people have prejudged me over the way I ended last year, I still see comments to this day. People just don’t understand what was happening with me at that time. No one sees what is going on behind the scenes. Last year was really frustrating for me. I wasn’t fed up but when you go somewhere with a winning team but only scoring one point in a Grand Final, it’s very hard. To finish the season like that, it was the last meeting of the year, was tough. No one wants to finish on a downer. I had all this built up anger. I honestly could have probably killed someone that night after that race. I was so angry. But that’s what I mean about last year I was a different rider. I’ve matured a lot over the winter.”
