Frieze

Frieze is a contemporary art magazine, published eight times a year.

It was founded in London in 1991 and is renowned for publishing essays, profiles, interviews and reviews by today’s leading writers, artists and curators.

Across all platforms and live events frieze elevates the provocative, brilliant and leading voices who shape and challenge today’s art world. 

Issues published in January/February, March, April, May, Summer (June, July, August), September, October and November/December.

The October issue of frieze magazine opens with a series of columns dedicated to the medium of dance: Charles Aubin writes on Yvonne Rainer’s return to dance after a two-decade hiatus, Damien Jalet speaks to associate editor Marko Gluhaich about choreographing Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez (2024), associate editor Vanessa Peterson examines Rebecca Horn’s use of performance as a form of exploring our subconscious desires and Travis Alabanza pens a tribute to MarikisCryCryCry’s choreographic horror ‘Goner’ (2024–25).
