Jazzwise magazine’s July issue celebrates iconic singer Nina Simone’s powerful songs and fearless embrace of civil rights in a special cover feature, with contemporary jazz vocalist China Moses expanding on the many facets of Nina’s enduring legacy today in a fascinating interview.
Also in the issue are features on pioneering bassist and Tomorrow’s Warriors co-founder Gary Crosby OBE, who looks back on his incredible career as he celebrates his 70th birthday year. There are interviews with multi-Grammy winning jazz banjoist Béla Fleck ahead of his July shows in London with his BEATrio, and renowned keyboardist Jason Miles delves into his storied career working alongside Miles Davis, Marcus Miller, and Michael Brecker.
