The September issue of Jazzwise is out now, and it’s John Coltrane at 100 edition – celebrating one of the true giants of jazz. In this special issue, we take a deep dive into his seismic musical achievements, including his classic albums Giant Steps and A Love Supreme. We also feature a special first-hand report on his only UK tour in 1961, exploring how he took Newcastle by storm, alongside a roundup of the major Coltrane tribute concerts happening across the UK this autumn, featuring artists such as Joe Lovano, Emma Rawicz, and Branford Marsalis.

We travel to Norway to shine a light on some of the movers and shakers of that ever-evolving scene, with conversations with guitarist Hedvig Mollestad and prog-jazz outfit RYMDEN.
