First published in November 2011, Hunger is a style and culture publication launched by Rankin, the co-founder of world-renowned magazine Dazed, aimed at the culturally and visually hungry.

The biannual issues are brimming with music, art, culture, documentary and high octane fashion features, editorials and in-depth interviews. Each issue covers both the established and emerging talents in the arts, fashion and editorial sectors, keeping the issue at the cutting-edge of pop culture.

After 12 years of HUNGER magazine, we thought it was high time to pay homage to our editor-in-chief RANKIN. The result? A standalone collector’s edition of HUNGER entirely curated and photographed by the man himself. For months, Rankin kept his ear close to the media landscape and compiled a list of industry stalwarts and buzzy up-and-comers, which he proceeded to shoot on all-white backgrounds — a first for the magazine.

Kicking us off is our first cover star, Lily Allen, who chats to us about the freedom she has gained from relocating to New York, and her pivot to acting. We also have a healthy dose of nostalgia in the form of the Sugababes — who are celebrating their highly-anticipated return to music. Then, British actor, Will Poulter, also speaks candidly about the pressures of entering the Marvel universe and prioritising his mental health under the glare of the limelight.

And that’s not all! Rapper Stefflon Don opened up about re-discovering her love for hip-hop and finding inspiration from the TikTok gen of music. Actor Eddie Marsan chats about the reality of playing villainous characters, and we also catch up with upcoming German actor Lisa Vicari, who you may know from the likes of Netflix’s Dark and Isi & Ossi.

The bulk of this issue, though, comes from the magazine’s first-ever portrait series, titled Movers & Shakers. Handpicked by Rankin, we see the likes of legendary DJs Fabio & Grooverider and war photographer Giles Duley speak about their ‘past’, ‘present’ and ‘future’. Later, household names across the media landscape, including Zandra Rhodes, Sibyl Buck, and Sharon Horgan, give us the lowdown on their prolific careers and future moves. If that wasn’t enough culture for you, the cast of the upcoming television remake of Dead Ringers, starring Rachel Weisz, is interviewed by Rankin himself.

As usual, we’re committed to celebrating upcoming talent. We have our regular fixture, HUNGRY, where we highlight the standout singers, actors and artists that you’ll be seeing all over your feeds soon. And, of course, we have ample fashion and beauty programming to feast your eyes on. In this issue, the likes of Louis Vuitton, Guerlain, Dior, Chanel and preloved specialists Vinted will be providing you with inspiration for the season ahead.
