THE tapes go up on a new speedway season this weekend – and it’s Danish star Niels-Kristian Iversen who gets things underway with his Testimonial meeting at King’s Lynn on Sunday, closely followed by Belle Vue’s Peter Craven Memorial on Monday. In this week’s magazine, Iversen looks ahead to his special day in Norfolk, which will see some big clubs from the past resurrected as Lynn take on Newport, Peterborough and Wolverhampton. NKI reveals: “A few of the clubs I have ridden for in the past currently do not have a track and that’s pretty sad. I thought it would be a good idea to bring the clubs back at least for a day. Hopefully it will bring back the names and some of the fans who support them. The line-up looks pretty good. It’s nice that the boys want to do it and we should be in for a good afternoon. Let’s hope for some good weather and then everything will be perfect.”
