HUNGER

First published in November 2011, Hunger is a style and culture publication launched by Rankin, the co-founder of world-renowned magazine Dazed, aimed at the culturally and visually hungry.

The biannual issues are brimming with music, art, culture, documentary and high octane fashion features, editorials and in-depth interviews. Each issue covers both the established and emerging talents in the arts, fashion and editorial sectors, keeping the issue at the cutting-edge of pop culture.

After 12 years, HUNGER has made it to 30. Our anniversary issue, Where’s Your Head At?, was conceived to take stock of what we do best; interviews with the players who keep the needle moving in their respective fields, reflecting on what has been over a decade of cultural shifts, all while providing our usual helping of fashion and beauty-related escapism. 

We speak to some of society’s most recognisable faces, including RZA who discusses the lasting legacy of iconic hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Brit-pop royalty Liam Gallagher and John Squire chat about their new album and the halcyon days of the 90s. Kyle MacLachlan discusses Twin Peaks and his creative partnership with David Lynch, while Jessica Henwick reflects on Stars Wars and Glass Onion. 

In As We Are, we spotlight some of the country’s most innovative British South Asian Creatives, including the podcast duo behind Brown Girls Do It Too. We also speak to Bellies author Nicola Dinan about the trans experience, before sharing a photo story from Bristolian photographer Beezer exploring the intricacies of street, music and youth culture in the 80s. As usual, we have our regular HUNGRY fixture, where we highlight the standout singers, actors and artists that you’ll be seeing all over your feeds soon. And, of course, there is ample innovative fashion and beauty programming to feast your eyes on. In this issue, the likes of Chanel, Dior, Rabanne and Fendi will be providing you with inspiration for the season ahead.
