Issue 1, Winter 2011
First published in November 2011, Hunger is a style and culture publication launched by Rankin, the co-founder of world-renowned magazine Dazed, aimed at the culturally and visually hungry.
The biannual issues are brimming with music, art, culture, documentary and high octane fashion features, editorials and in-depth interviews. Each issue covers both the established and emerging talents in the arts, fashion and editorial sectors, keeping the issue at the cutting-edge of pop culture.
HUNGER’s theme for Autumn/Winter 2021 is “Taking Back Control” and leading the issue are a host of cover stars whose unique vision exemplifies the magazine’s mission: musician and actress Camila Cabello, Sex Education stars Gillian Anderson and Emma Mackey, Top Boy’s Ashley Walters, Shadow and Bone’s Amita Suman, It’s a Sin actress Lydia West and Jamie Dornan, who appears in conversation with Kenneth Branagh about his upcoming roll in the film Belfast. Elsewhere in the issue, HUNGER profiles the next generation of up-and-coming British and Irish actors such as Bridgerton’s Martins Imhangbe and Sex Education’s Mimi Keene. In London, Jordan Rossi lenses a portfolio of activists and queer elders who have advanced the cause for LGTBQIA+ equality in the five decades since Stonewall and in NYC, Julia Comita photographs the models embodying Disability Pride 365 days a year in new fashion story “Seizing The Throne”
