IT was quite a day for Jordan Jenkins on Sunday. The Oxford Charger raced to victory in the National Development League Riders’ Championship at Scunthorpe, thereby becoming the first Oxford rider to lift a riders’ championship since the legendary Hans Nielsen in 1990! We have full coverage from the Eddie Wright Raceway in this week’s magazine, as Jenkins reveals: “The red lights came on when I was on the second bend of the final lap and then you’re wondering what’s happened. Of course, at that point in the race, you think it’s going to be awarded and it was. The moment I realised I’d won the meeting – you can’t beat it. I’m over the moon to win the NLRC. It’s great to win something for Oxford – I was mindful that I was representing them in this meeting. It’s a good feeling to win a trophy for Oxford in their first season back.”
