A DIFFICULT and troubled season for Oxford at least ended on a real high note when Sam Masters and Anders Rowe teamed up to win the Championship Pairs at Poole. In this week's magazine, we have full coverage from Wimborne Road, where the Cheetahs overcame Berwick duo Peter Kildemand and Nick Morris in the final. Afterwards, Masters revealed: “When you get older, you know how to stay calm in those situations. I said to Anders before the semis: ‘Mate, whatever happens now, we have come this far – what’s meant to be, will be. Do your best and if we win, we deserve it. If not, we’ve battled hard’. He seemed pretty calm before the semis and did well to hold third against Bomber and Leon."
