BRITAIN'S complicated winter at Premiership level ultimately left one home star on the shelf. Adam Ellis is concentrating his plans elsewhere in 2026 after missing out on a return to champions Ipswich and declining a late offer from newcomers Northampton. In this week's edition, the former British Champion reveals: "It wasn’t a question of turning my back on England – I was planning on doing it, 100 per cent. I probably became a bit impatient but I didn’t want to miss out on an opportunity because I was waiting to see what happened in England. I tried to find out a few times. I hope I will be back, that’s the plan. I’m not turning my back on British speedway; it’s been so good to me over the years and I’d like to come back to England at some stage. I’d spoken to Ipswich but it was after I signed in Denmark. After looking at the calendars, I was too busy to commit to the full year. It’s a pretty hectic May, June and July. I’m really busy and I didn’t want to sign up for too much and turn it into a situation where I was burnt out with all the travelling.”
