The Spring 2020 issue of Index on Censorship looks at whether and when we might be complicit in choosing not to speak out about issues of importance, and censoring ourselves. What are the factors that influence us and how do we make those decisions? Does staying quiet about contentious issues mean only the extreme views are heard? We also look at the deals we do with technology which give away our privacy by allowing apps access to our contacts books and mapping. Nathalie Rothschild speaks to Swedes who are willingly having chips inserted under their skin, and looks at the implications about privacy around this new trend.
